MOONCAKE LANTERN

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

People usually spend more for celebrations. During the Mid-Autumn festival, Malaysians celebrate by eating mooncakes and playing with lanterns, referred to as “tang long” by the cantonese speaking community. Mooncakes are often gifted by bosses or exchanged between colleagues and families during this season.

This has lead to mooncake companies investing more and more into extravagant aesthetically pleasing packaging which will be worthy of being gifted and reflecting the honour and respect which comes with it.

The use of laminated paper-plastic packaging, iridescent inks, and even electrical components embedded into the packaging make it difficult to disassemble and recycled the materials into their singular parts.
